This video was captured by Paranormal and Supernatural Seekers of Trumbull County, Ohio at The Knickerbocker Hotel in Linesville, Pennsylvania on October the 9th 2009.
There are three cameras present one is recording the video we see here. Another is pointed at the cam that is taking the video. Let me explain, investigators at The Knickerbocker have, from time to time, had their cameras moved or knocked over for no apparent reason. Now we encourage cameras to point at one another whenever possible.
The third camera is not in this scene at all but instead at the bottom of the staircase recording whatever might be coming up the stairs. Watch the movie, I’ll tell you more.

I have not been informed of the exact time of night the video was captured, obviously it is after the team has gone dark and all cams are using infrared. All still photos, of course require flash.
The bright spotlight in the upper center of the frame is the second camera, the spotlight effect is its infrared light being picked up by the recording camera.
If you look at about floor level, through the staircase balusters you will see a flash about two seconds before the “object of interest” appears near the top of the stairs. The flash has been determined to be the camera flash of an investigator snapping a photo in the back area. The area of The Knickerbocker where The Children’s Room and The Angel Room, among others, are located.
Please notice that the stair balusters and handrail remain stable throughout the video. The object of interest is behind the balusters and handrail but in front of the white woodwork to the right, which is the entrance to The Conneaut Lake Room. This detail effectively rules out the shadow figure we see as being an anomaly of the recording camera.
Investigators from Paranormal and Supernatural Seeks have reviewed the third camera, located at the bottom of the stairs, and determined that at the time this video was captured there was not interference from below.
In other words, what you see is what you get. We are expecting a lively discussion and varied opinions as to what this “Shadow Figure is all about. Feel free to join in. Interesting video . Looks like Mrs. Arnold is back. There is a uniqueness of a orb prior to the apparition. Great video capture.
Hi Tom, and thanks for looking at the clip we sent you. I must have looked at that film a dozen times before I decided to send it to you. I’m a skeptic at heart, and my first thought was “okay somebodys coming up the stairs”, so I went to our 2nd floor camera at the same point in time. That wasn’t the case. Plus I looked at footage from the same 3 rd floor camera that showed people coming up to the 3rd floor at differnt times during the night.
The “movement” from a person’s shadow going up the steps is nothing like the film clip. A persons shadow “movement” is much more deliberate and slower. I don’t know how to explain it, other than calling it paranormal.
This is a very, very, interesting video.
Since this was shot during a “lights out” investigation, the only source of illumination (If it were a natural shadow) would be the IR illuminator on the camera at the foot of the stairs.
A real person casting this shadow would have to be one third, to halfway up the staircase.
The range and speed of motion displayed by the shadow figure in the video, does not square with a person constrained by the width of a staircase.
I think we’ve really got something here.

mirabalis- you’re right about the shadow movement. One thing that I did was look at other footage where a person is going from the 2nd to 3rd floor. A person’s movement is much more controlled and just not that fast. At least nobody in our team moves that fast!
I’ve tried over and over to come up with an explanation as to what it could be… rather than something paranormal. I just can’t do it after going over all the footage from the cameras on floors 2/3.
Wow! You can really see the shadow clear as day. This is really good. When I first saw it I was amazed.
Wow!! That’s a real shadow person! That’s about the best capture video of one I’ve ever seen. Great video!!
There is some fast-moving photoactive stuff happening preliminarily, possibly someone’s flashlight beam or a passing headlight, but almost like a manifestation flash, and it is followed by the shadow activity. There may also be some orbs happening in the foreground. Note the implied containment area. Whatever it was, it apparently managed to find a nice EMF bubble in which to roam for a few seconds. Incredible capture!

at first i was wondering if there was a human shadow but from the movement i think there may indeed be something there.and as far as the flash i have been taking photos for 30 years of everything from bug, to trees ,people , and what i think are spirits……it does not look like camera flash to me…..and i have had camera flash destory great photos
I agree: this “shadow” wasn’t made by a living human. And a definite orb that zooms along, L to R, near the bottom of the frame. Excellent capture!!!
