These pictures were all taken in the basement. No one has offered an explanation of the light anomalies that we see here. All the pictures are clickable links to larger versions, for your more detailed consideration.

At first glance it appears the photographer moved the camera and just got a blurry shot. Closer examination reveals significant portions of the photographs were taken with a steady hand. I have lightened these photos slightly to bring out the detail, no other alterations have been made.

I don't know much about the basement of The Knickerbocker, most Knickerbocker staffers make a point of staying out of it, myself included. The main entrance to the basement is adjacent the hallway. The basement door is kept locked, since the lock kept "unlocking" it is also propped shut with a special aluminum rod.
